Called to Serve: The Altar Server Ministry
Serving as an Altar Server is a wonderful way for youth to take an active role in the life of the Church and grow in their faith.
Altar Servers assist the clergy during Mass and help create a reverent, prayerful environment for the celebration of the Eucharist. Open to both boys and girls who have been baptized and received their First Holy Communion, this ministry invites young people to serve during weekend liturgies on a rotating schedule.
In addition to Sunday Masses, Altar Servers may also be called upon for special liturgies such as Confirmations, Weddings, and Holy Days. Most servers are scheduled about once a month and may volunteer to fill in when others are unavailable.
This ministry offers a meaningful way for youth to develop responsibility, leadership, and a deeper connection to the sacred traditions of the Church.
