Confirmation

✝️ Confirmation

“By the sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.”
— Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) no. 1285

Confirmation is the final Sacrament of Initiation in the Catholic Church, completing what began in Baptism and is nourished in the Eucharist. Through Confirmation, we receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit, empowering us to grow as mature disciples of Jesus Christ and active members of His Church.

Candidates preparing for Confirmation are invited to deepen their love for Christ, embrace their Catholic faith more fully, and commit to living it out through prayer, service, and participation in the life of the Church—especially through Sunday Mass.

For Teens (Age 14+)

Teens who have already been baptized and received First Communion may enroll in our Religious Education program to prepare for Confirmation. Each year, the Bishop of Sacramento visits our parish to confer the sacrament and call down the Holy Spirit upon our youth.

Teens who have not yet been baptized should enroll in the OCIA Adapted for Children program and will receive Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation together.

For Adults (Age 18+)

Unbaptized adults will receive all three Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation—through the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA).

Baptized adults who have not yet been confirmed may participate in our Adult Confirmation Preparation class to complete their initiation into the Church.
