Sacristan Ministry

Preparing the Altar with Care, Reverence, and Devotion

The Sacristan Ministry plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that each liturgical celebration at St. Joseph’s runs smoothly and reverently. Sacristans are entrusted with preparing and organizing the sacred vessels, vestments, and other essential items before Mass, and they work closely with the clergy and fellow liturgical ministers—Altar Servers, Lectors, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion—to coordinate each liturgy with care and devotion.

Sacristans serve on a rotating schedule, offering their time and attention to detail as a meaningful act of service to the parish community. Training is provided to support both the spiritual and practical aspects of this ministry. If you are looking for a quiet but deeply impactful way to serve the Lord and your parish, consider becoming a Sacristan.
